I DELIVERED MY FIRST BABY YESTERDAY!!! (of course the Attending was watching me the whole time but still...) It was such an exciting, emotional, memorable experience. I've been waiting for this day for awhile now considering I'm almost done with my Obstetrics and Gynecology clinical rotation. But yea, I haven't written in my xanga for a long time bc I've been really busy at the hospital and studying and such. But ya, for me it was a big thing for me to bring some one into this world;being the first to hold her. It was pretty emotional bc it was a young couple, it was their first baby. The couple was crying and it was funny bc the dad looked like he was going to faint during the process; I was joking with him and said, "hm, maybe you need an epidural too!" HAHA
But ya, things are going pretty good thus far. Couple hardcore exams coming up so I'll be studying and studying and studying.

Today (Yes on Saturday!) I performed my very first RECTAL exam (with the Dean of our college overseeing me!), BREAST exam and PELVIC exam (you know, using that 'duckbill' looking thingy) all on Standardized Patients (actor/actress patients that get paid to let students do these things). They all went pretty good. The clinical director said that one MALE STUDENT passes out each year from the rectal exam and to place bets on who would fall first. I wasn't phased by any of it; I've seen a lot of stuff. Wow, in only how many months I'll be in the hospital on rotations! I can't wait. But until then I have to pass that pesky board exam.
